      Galway City
Above:  Both tourists and locals explore Shop Street, which is a curved, cobbled street lined with quaint
shops, bohemian cafés, and traditional pubs.
Above Left:  Galway was once ruled by 14 tribes, and their family crests line the main street in town.
Above Right:  Gwen and Alex pose in front of a sculpture in Kennedy Park, which was named after the Irish-American President and
commemorates his visit to Galway in 1963.
Above:  Eyre Square is Galway's central public square. The Great Southern Hotel dominates the eastern
side of the square, and serves as the setting for weekly Rotary lunches.
Above:  One of the many pubs in Galway, all of which are well-loved for their traditional Irish music
sessions.
Above:  Looming magnificently over the River Corrib, Galway Cathedral is a huge, imposing structure,
dedicated by the late Cardinal Richard Cushing of Boston in 1965.
Above: A beautiful fishing spot near the great weir where the waters of the Corrib cascade down one of
their final descents before reaching the sea in Galway Bay.  Salmon abounds in these waters!
